A shot of my 'rig'

ENGL Powerball into a 'standard/vintage' cab (v30's on the bottom, v60's on the top)
Orange TT into a 2x12 w/Celestion v60's

Im thinking of getting a 50watt Valve Head soon, perhaps a HiWatt Higain, Laney GH50 or a 2nd hand Marshall head...

Generally I run both amps at the same time, however I sometimes run the 2x12 out to my drummer as a monitor thus:

Scott...

I think that the one I have is YOUR head. Did you sell it to me on Ebay while I was on my honeymoon in Maui a month ago? If so, that was ME!

You spent your honeymoon on eBay buying an amplifier!?! You, sir, are lucky to be alive, let alone married.

LOL!

Actually, I won the auction just before I left for my honeymoon. But I did stop at an internet cafe on Maui a few times to check status and touch base with the outside world.

And my wife is pretty cool. She bought me that Traynor head in fact as a wedding present! She's a keeper!

Re: Post your amp rig!

Did it arrive in a Vox valvetronix box? That could indeed be my old amp fo sho. Looks just as good as when I shipped it.

Yeah. That had to be me. Man that price hurt. I was expecting a tad more for it, but I did pretty good on a similar auction the week before so it all evened out pretty much. Helped pay off my debts and fund the Vox valvetronix heads I bought.

I need to send you the owners manual. I found it in my office the other day (I thought I shipped it but here it is). PM me with your address again and I'll ship it to you. You still have a warranty on this amp. The included receipt that I sent on the box should be proof enough of it's age and it's totally transferrable. No need to pay a tech to fix it when Traynor will do it for you.

You must have found the speaker combination that works with this amp. I tried my two favorite speaker types and had no luck at all dialing in the mids.

Yup... that was you indeed! Small world!

Yeah, I knew that price had to hurt for you. I've had the same things happen. Last year, I sold my two ESP Ltd EC-1000's in MINT condition for $5-600. It hurt. That was the minimum I've ever seen them go for. And I sold the G&L Tribute ASAT for like $325 mint. That hurt too. I wish I had them all back now! But you just don't know that the market's gonna be when you put them up. Because at the same time I sold my H&K Triamp MkI for $1675! Now I've seen them for for $1K at times. So I feel your pain...lol

Yeah, I got all the paperwork you sent with it. I will PM you my address. It would be nice to get that manual for sure. And you had left the warranty tag still attached to the handle, so I was aware that it was under warranty. But it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that there are some capable local guys who can look at it as well if I don't want to send it all over the continent for warranty repair.

I did find the right combination man. But I could tell where you were coming from at first because it took me a bit to find that combo. I wish I still had my Triamp to A/B the Traynor with, because I'd swear that I like the Traynor MORE (except for the cleans -- it's good for those but that Triamp was the best I've ever heard).

Re: Post your amp rig!

The price didn't hurt all that bad or I wouldn't have set the auction for that amount. It was my minimum selling price and you happened to luck into an uncontested auction. Now at least I know it went to someone who is cool. It has a good home and is loved now. That's the important part. :D

It definitely does have a good home Scott. I have always bought a sold gear a lot because I get bored with things and want new things to inspire me. But I'm tired of letting good stuff go and regretting it. So right now my plan is to keep the Traynor (and maybe even buy another one down the road for a stereo, 4 4X12 setup). The only other head I'm interested in at this point is the Bogner Shiva (well... maybe the Ecstasy Classic 101B too). So until I have the $$$ to get that, this Traynor will do great. And it has features that I need live that the Bogner doesn't have (like the adjustable Solo Boost). Thanks for a good deal man. I definitely appreciate it.

Re: Post your amp rig!

Oh, and Kyuss... you have the coolest amp on this board. That Bogner wishes it could be as cool as your amp (J/K, Chris!). Ya gotta recover the cab, dude.

Heh, cheers dude! That's the next item on the expenditure list, currently scheduled for middle of August. I'll be sure to post pics when it's done.

Re: Post your amp rig!

Everything in the pic is in my sig except the new 6505. Just got done series/parallel wiring the V.

Re: Post your amp rig!

Did you clean up the shop, or is that an old picture?

Good to see you around Jeff.

sshhhh!, not so loud, I have a professional image to uphold...:D

..ok yeah, it's an old pic... a "clean" shop is one that's fixing to close...:9:

Re: Post your amp rig!

Yeah, so just post your rig, from amps you have (and what you use it for), and pedals and guitars.

Also post what type of music you play and the like....

Pictures very appreciated

Main Large Rig....

5150 4x12
5150 head-Original version
Peavey Classic 50 head
Axess Electronics Head Switcher unit so i can switch between the 2 heads into single 4x12
A Donlop Wah, and a Boss Chorus...
and a Morley A/B box that allows me to turn off my cable for guitar changes and switch to a tuner as well...
Guitars i use most with this rig is a Jackson Dinky for Floyd Rose stuff and Godin Solidac that has a Piezo Trem Bridge...

Basicly my main rig allows me 4 channels plus the Piezo sounds... C50 Clean, C50 Ditry, 5150 Rythym, 5150 Solo.... plus the Piezo is really 5 sounds.... it does pretty much everything i ever wanted....

Smaller portable rig

Peavey C30 combo
Peavey 1x12 extent cab
Pedalboard with a Wah, Tube Screamer, Boss Line Selector, Boss DS1-(or others like Boss Mega Distortion), Danoelectro Fab Tone, Boss Chorus and DOD or Ibanez Delay....

Various axes including Godin with Piezo

Basicly this smaller portable rig offers an extreme amount of tones... i use the amp Clean mostly and use the pedals for dirt.... but i also use the amps own distortion and use the Tube Screamer TS10 to goose it on solos..

The Line Selector pedal allows me to use the DS1 for Rythym in Loop A, Loop B has the Fab Tone for solos.... using the Line Selector to switch between Distortion boxes i can get a large solo boost...

so basicly i get- C30 Clean, C30 distorted with or without atube screamer, DS1 or simular distortion, Fab Tone for fuzzy solos, and Piezo clean tones.... Add the wah, delay and chorus or Flanger and i get some serious tones...

Sometimes with the C30 rig i add a 1989 Roland multiFX called a GP8.... has various Boss style FX's in a 1 inch rack unit....

for goofing around with friends i also use a Fender Ultimate Chorus and a Princton Chorus... Kind of fun to play thru these stereo chorus amps once in a while... I plan to use a good A/B box with no Ground Loop noise to be able to A/B between the Ultimate and Princton for Rythym and Solos.... should be interesting... just a toy really, will not be my main set up...

I also have a few other tube amps like an original Fender 65 Deluxe, and a JCM 800 2204, a Berhinger amp and a POD set up.... I have over 20 solid body axes, most strat styles... I use them all for different things here and there
