Post your current board

Re: Post your current board

Just rearranged my board this morning, here's what it looks like:

I have the Line 6 M5 there as a Swiss Army Knife type deal for whatever random effects I occasionally use... but I'm finding I don't actually use whacky effects that often, so I'm thinking of ditching it.

Hi there Sixstringsamurai....

Looks great!

Yeah, if you find certain pedals obsolete, you could remove them. Just depends what sorts of music you play, I would think.

I do not always use all the pedals all the time; just for certain tunes which wish more depth or a more dimentional sound. Sometimes, I just play through the True-Bypass, which is directly into the head. Which, also sounds beautiful. A board is very convenient, though; at a slight touch of your foot you can change your sound.

Thus, a board and excellent Seymour Duncan pickups on your guitar...combined: will take you to greater heights!

Hi Dr.Barlo....

Looks GREAT!

I think you will upgrade your board plank, soon, no? Do not want your pedals going overboard, no?

You have a great combination of effects. Love it!

Just wired up yesterday.

The reverb remains idle most of the time, preferring amp reverb if the amp I'm using has it. The Koji's a little out of line because there's no velcro yet.

Thanks man.

:)

The board is Ikea Gorm, and I intend to keep it small you know because carrying big boards is definitely some big hussle. I ended up buying my velcro from a shop that sells supplies for boats. Very high quality and I somehow prefer the white one. Indeed, all the pedals have velcro and all.

Re: Post your current board

I just moved some stuff around and added a few things. My board is ever changing.

Re: Post your current board

I posted some pics earlier of my big Pedaltrain Pro I used to use, and the two smaller boards (a PT Mini and a Nano) that I downsized to. But that still left some pedals without a home, and both the new boards are mono boards, and some of my favorite effects are stereo. So I procured a new TU-3 - as on my other boards - and put some of the "leftover" pedals on it. I'm just waiting for the Earthquaker Devices The Warden optical compressor I ordered to arrive; fill the empty slot; wire it up with George L's; and plug it into my two matching vintage Champs, Can't wait to have stereo again! Here it is with the empty slot:

I have a big ol' board, but for the past couple months all I've been using is these two so I whittled it down. lol

Re: Post your current board

^ I LOVE putting echo in front of the drive pedal ... I do the same with my Tommy Bolin fuzz; just sounds great to my ears!

Re: Post your current board

Well in my case it makes sense as the Echoplex was always run in front of the preamp back in the day. I don't usually like delays in front of dirt, but most delays don't have a preamp to push things with like the EP/Belle Epoch does.

How do you like that Bolin Fuzz? I had the Analogman AstroTone and loved it - another one I should have held on to. lol

I absolutely love it! But -- it doesn't have the gain range of the Astro ... It works really well with the Naga in front of it. I did a solo with that combo on my prog album, which will be out some time this Winter. :) It actually made my Bare Knuckle Riff Raff loaded Agile sound very Strat-like!

Here is my current at-home board. Amp is a Lil Dawg Champster; cabinet is loaded with a Weber Alnico speaker. Sounds KILLER.

AnalogMan Beano Boost
MXR Distortion +
Xotic BB Preamp
AnalogMan Sunface (Si)
