Post your worst guitar

I would imagine both manufacturers excel at different pricepoints
Never tried an Indonesian Cort, TBH.

Before they went to Indonesia, I had a Korean Cort Ibanez. It was alright. But I've just had that single one, so it would be ignorant of me to judge them based on that.

But World guitars in general have a pretty good reputation. Nowadays, they're pretty expensive too. I see some LTD's sell for 1600 dollars and up!

I also don't want to speak like I'm prejudiced. I've had at least 5, maybe 6 PRS SE's. I kept giving them second chances. The only one which I honestly thought was a good problem-free well-built guitar was a Mushok baritone, even if I didn't like the neck profile, fretboard radius, small frets, and cheapie tuners.

Was it definitely Cor Tek? I think there was some cross over time between when SEs started coming out and the Korean plant shut down SE production.

Im just not a PRS fan, but I do think they are quality guitars... Every Butt Rock and Nu Metal guy had em in the late 90s and 2000s and it's given me an aversion -I know its a me problem -they are just ugly.

I think so..it is Indonesian made. Mine was originally a special run for Guitar Center, although I didn't buy it there.

I think it is only in more or less recent times that Indonesia is gaining some reputation. I remember in the 2000's, Indo guitars weren't very well-regarded. I had an Indo LTD B-155 bass which was attrocious. Also a Premium Ibanez which was alright, just kinda underwhelming for the price. But I'd like to try something currently Indo-made. I wouldn't buy a PRS SE, but I would love to try one of the current 594's which come with more decent hardware.

But plenty of other countries/factories have more of a reputation for "best import guitars", IMO. I've always perceived Cort as more of a "hidden gem" kinda factory. At least that's the perception I have. Maybe I'm just being too much of an import guitar boomer, LOL.

I don't mind where something is made, and I've played great guitars from every major continent. But PRS SE guitars, at least the few I tried (and the one I owned) might have been good guitars, had they tried to make them look less fancy, yet worked on them playing in tune (and with better hardware).

Not mine, but exactly the same:

latest

Ibanez RX40. Actually not terrible but the trem, nut, tuners and frets were definitely entry level.

For your consideration...

1984 Harmony H303
Relic'ed Vintage Sunburst
Painted binding, painted fretboard, original pickguard and tuners
Bone stock
Cracks, finish scuffing, no repairs
Not clean

This guitar comes with the microtonal Variable Neck Angle mod, which can be used for whammy-like effects as well as folding it into a more travel-friendly position. Two vintage 1990s strings included. Builds character. No payment methods accepted. Case not included.

FWIW, the only PRS SE I've owned was quite decent - a 25th Anniversary Cu24 from 2010.
Kind of a cool model, matching headstock and bound ebony fretboard with the Anniversary birds in a slightly wavy line.
It was quite nice, except for lackluster original pickups. Played well and stayed in tune.
Now that I think of it, though, it'd had a USA nut installed. Probably made a difference.
Build quality might have been above average on limited-run special models, though.
