"Pothole" plugs??

Adieu

Is there a decent/inconspicuous-looking plug or press-in fastener that's well-suited for plugging unused potentiometer holes on modded instruments?

Please advise, thx

Re: "Pothole" plugs??

I would keep the pot and knob on there as the least conspicuous....even if it has no function.

Re: "Pothole" plugs??

They're available in all sizes and many colors. Search "hole plugs."

I knew a girl in college who needed those, but for different reasons than OP. The easiest most "duh" answer is to just leave the pot in the hole and not use it. I've never actually seen a hole plug for use on guitars, but these guys say they're out there, so search away.

Re: "Pothole" plugs??

I bought a custom guard for my Strat from Warmoth when I changed the pot configuration. Not the cheapest route but still...effective.

Re: "Pothole" plugs??

I use electronics chassis hole plugs which are metal and silver in color and actually look like they may belong there instead of a hole.

Re: "Pothole" plugs??

ok, a little old, but thought i'd pass this along -- had to move the knobs, and 3way switch on my schecter c1+ cause of my sloppy technique when i'm playing funk rhythm, so wound up with 3 holes -- didn't like the look of trhe plastic plugs, so i used a 1/2" plug from home depot for the big hole where the switch was, and 2 "5/16" for the little pot holes -- i like the look, reminds me of silver planets -- no volume or tune, since i never use them, and i have sd triple shots for switchingIMG_3996.jpg

yeah, that photo looks like crap, actually looks different than that --this way i don't beat the crap out of my hand on the knobs, and i get to answer the question "what are those buttons for?"
