Pots in my 76 Telecaster

I have bough an original 76 telecaster from my friend for almost a month.
It is the best Fender I have ever play, a lot better than current relic customshop models I have tried.

But a few days ago, I opened the pot cover to do some modify and take pictures, the volume and tone pots read 1 meg!!! I am pretty sure the pots is the original ones, however, from my understanding Fender commonly use 250K pots in their singlecoil pickup guitars. Yep my tele has singlecoil pickups too.

Is there anything wrong with my guitar???
Does anyone has experience about this???

Re: Pots in my 76 Telecaster

there was definitely a time in the mid 70s when fender was using 1mg pots for teles. I've heard this countless times before.

Talk about a dumb idea. Jeez, I tell ya. Fender and Gibson have made some ridiculous blunders in the past.

Now THAT smells like a new thread...
