Potted Antiquity Humbuckers

Hi all,

I have the Antiquity Humbuckers which I absolutely love, but I need the wax potted "version" for my more high gain stuff.
I am however having a hard time navigating through the myriads of options to choose from, so I thought I would ask the experts in here.

Which humbuckers closest match the antiquity humbuckers - both bridge and neck?

Best...Jan

For me its a mid strong PAF style pickup, but the magnets are very unique to the Ants. Those ‚Dunaged A2s‘ is very weak and slightly hollow sounding. I did a lot of swapping in and out with my stash of magnets. Only a A3 come near, maybe slightly demagnetized. So my first attempt would be a pair of 59 or PG or even Jazz with A3.
BTW All my Ants have different mags now. I love them with a A4 in the neck and a UO A5 in the bridge.

You could always just order the Antiquities potted through any SD dealer and get exactly what you want.

It‘s not really hard to pot pickups yourself, unless you want it done with vacuum or other fancy stuff.
just melt some paraffin wax (not too hot, just as hot as it needs to be melted) and dip the PU into it.
some beeswax can be added,too

Thanks for all the tips, I was also un-aware that they could be ordered pottet, or that I could do it myself ;-)

Thanks all!

You can order everything on Custom Shop orders. My recommendation is to think about a stronger bridge magnet like an full charged A2 or a A4.

Potted or not might fall under the Shop Floor Custom program, which can be ordered through any SD dealer. These would be cheaper than a full CS pickup.
