I know this has been done to death but my main question is a little different.... I spent a lot of today researching this. I really want to get a small amp to pair with my Princeton Reverb, but I just don't have the money right now. I started a quartet (straight-ahead/soul bop/free jazz) about a month ago and amongst other things, I'm really trying to develop my electric archtop sound.
I want to assemble a pedalboard for my archtop and want to keep it as simple and compact as possible. This will be a cheaper gear endeavor than a whole new amp hehe. It'll tie me over until I can afford that.
I keep bringing some pedals to quartet rehearsals/gigs and I'm running out of 9volts! I don't want to disassemble my Trailer Trash board. That's set up for my funk/rock/blues/pop country etc etc etc sessions/stuff and I can't be switching up the board every day. Long story short, I'd like to get another board. I have most of the pedals for it which is cool.
The setup would be:
- Campellone Archtop
- Analogman Modded Boss GE-7 EQ
- TC Polytune/Korg Pitchblack/Boss TU-2 (whatever tuner I decide to get)
- Electro-Harmonix Freeze
- EBS Tremolo - stereo outputs running into...
- ...stereo inputs of Boss DD-7 - stereo outputs running into....
- ...Princeton Reverb clone with one of my other amps
So the question is: What power supply should I get if I fit all of that on a Pedaltrain mini? Space is limited. I know that I don't want to get a 1Spot (NO One-Spots!) and I don't want to mod the thing and cut huge chunks out of the board.
I was thinking of getting an isolated power supply, velcroing on top as if it was another pedal, then velcroing a pedal to the top of the power supply like a pedal riser :scratchch
I don't know if the ISO 5 will work. I have five 9 volt pedals, the ISO5 has four 9 volt spots, one 12 volt and one 18 volt. Any ideas on that would be appreciated.
So I could put a Voodoo Labs PP2 on top....too big? bad idea?
I've seen people mount the Fuel Tank Jr. to the top vertically. The new pedaltrain minis don't have that "wall" that can hold the power supply in though. Check it:
New
Old
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! I kinda don't want to spring for the Pedaltrain Jr (the next biggest model) unless I really have to. I've been playing the mindf___ game with these ideas today. Any general insight would be very helpful! Thanks so much, guys!
