Praise for the STK-S1

I recently installed an STK-S1n in the middle position of my Telecaster. I also have a Gibson minibucker in the neck and a Vintage Stack (STK-T3b) in the bridge. I wanted a totally quiet rig. That's what I got. It's nice and quiet and the tone is great. They're a bit lower output and have Alnico II magnets. They're nice a clear and are glassy yet smooth. I almost want a Strat to load a whole set in...

Hey Butch,

Yes, I did the classic strat neck and middle one time. They are a bit middier, so I went to virtual 2's, then to Bill Lawrence 290's. Glad you like 'em. They are TOTALLY quiet, though.

I agree with you Butch. I have not tried the stk-s1 in a center position, but I have had them in both positions of a tele. It's nice getting that quality twang without the noise.

I have the stk-2 strat stack in the neck of a tele too. I have tried a few others, but that pickup seems to work the best in that guitar - very glassy and sensitive, with good output.

Yes, I didn't want a glassy classic Strat pickup. I wanted sometihng a bit more middy to balance with the other pickups and help kep me in the mix with the other players.

It's perfect for you then. Hey I'd like to get my hands on a recording of Kellie, the mp3, if that is still around somewhere....
