Prelude to a new Acey-Deucey Custom / NGD

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
Well, Santa brought the Aceman a Dean Vendetta....

And you know what happened the last time that occurred. Wonder what the future holds for this? I know. And it will include a Duncan Detonator....

Ace, i'm still in love with that 'Under Construction' Dean, so I cannot wait to see what happens!

Re: Prelude to a new Acey-Deucey Custom / NGD

noice! you should make this one a radioactive ooze theme, with the neon green strings :D

Ahhh! An intriguing guess. I have had a few "Biohazard" and "Warning: Radioctive" guitar straps bookmarked....

I wonder if that might be it???? Perhaps.............

NOT! But great idea.

In view of your liking for the Blackouts 'bucker on the orange guitar, might the new guitar be a wonderful opportunity to audition a Blackouts Modular Pre-Amp? :naughty:

Also on my "to do" list - but not this outing. I'm feelin' ok with the Detonator.

By the way - this one might come together fast! Learned a lot last time. Already have the paint!!!!!

Re: Prelude to a new Acey-Deucey Custom / NGD

Ooooo!

Maybe some kinda zombie outbreak theme?

Either way, I'm excited to see how it turns out. :D

Re: Prelude to a new Acey-Deucey Custom / NGD

I've been thinking about zombies (as they relate to guitars), and I just haven't came up with anything inspiring. Not feeling the Zombicaster anytime soon.

Re: Prelude to a new Acey-Deucey Custom / NGD

I always heard that Dean Vendettas were hit and miss, but I guess you beg to differ! Try before you buy rule never fails. I am thinking of getting a Detonator as well, as cash is thin and it seems it might be pretty close if not exactly what I want at the moment. Isn't it like a less-muddy Invader?

I agree on that this will not take as long as the last one. The first build/finish always is the longest. Once you know what to do, it becomes very easy.

Since you have an "under construction" guitar, why not make this one a pinup girl one?

Was talkin' with Evan about this and he says the Detonator is basically a Distortion with Invader poles.

And as for the hit/miss of the Vendetta - it's a crap guitar period. And that's why I love it! Again - Blackout, Detonators....not talking about a Seth or Pearly Gates here.

This is a VX - not an American Vendetta, which is pretty cool. And this guitar is a "B" $60 out the door.

Pinup - grewat idea, but I always envision Pinups as a 335/semi-hollow.

i'm liking the sick bright green vibe...

get some fluorescent green paint, the green strings, and get a bit satch on it
joe-satriani-blue-dream-back-cover-460-85.jpg

i would have a good look at the liner notes from blue dream, and perhaps white zombie, over a beer first.
maybe read some ninja turtles comics.

Re: Prelude to a new Acey-Deucey Custom / NGD

I will say that as far as Satch goes, I do have a sig model or two planned. My first will be an EVH stripes model. This ain't it though.

I may have found the PERFECT strap for this one just today! I think I'll be sticking with Yellow strings.

Re: Prelude to a new Acey-Deucey Custom / NGD

Show us the strap! Also, if a pinup is for a 335/semi-hollow, how about full-on Hustler pictures?

If you want to be able to actually post a picture of the finished guitar on the forum lol, tell me if you get any inspiration from this video.
