Pretty Strat

I go to Fender's site to check on something and I'm treated with this beauty. Normally can't stand the greenish tinted pick guards, but dang...

Re: Pretty Strat

Lew just got one of these EJ models in Lucerne Aqua Firemist. I'm trying to figure out if it's the same color.

Re: Pretty Strat

Saw that yesterday as well, retails for only $599. Very tempting. Bridge seems all right in this demo, Texas Specials definitely sound right though. They should have made the bridge pickup match the singles visually though, either all black or all white

Re: Pretty Strat

that's a beautiful guitar but it looks pretty stupid with that black pickup jumping right out at you

Re: Pretty Strat

I actually like the look of the black pickup. I went to Gelb Music in Redwood City a few years ago and they had a few CS Strats they had ordered to fit their own specs and they were all nicely reliced, HSS with a black bridge pickup and white middle and neck pickups. I've loved that look since then.

Re: Pretty Strat

Love the color. IMO, would really be stunning with a pearl pickguard. The white is just too plain.

The guitar looks even better in the video and it sounds real decent. I think that bridge humbucker fits & sounds perfect in the guitar and the coil-split gives it that super-quacky strat tone in positions 2 & 4. I think the price is fabulous at $599. With a hard-shell case, I paid including tax just over $1,000 for my '98 American Standard back in 2005 at a pawn shop.:( This Lonestar Strat is even more versatile and it looks well built. I'm starting to like the salt 'n' pepper look of the pickups...it gives it a visual edge.;)
