Problem Installing EMGs

Hello, this is my first time posting on here so sorry if there's any mistakes or rule breaking I just signed up to get you people's opinion on this.

I got a Jackson JS32T King V about 6 months ago, a couple months later a wire breaks or something causing the bridge pickup to have lower output than normal, it was ignorable and I decided to leave it until I could get enough money to replace them. Fast forward, I decide to get EMGs because I'm a huge fan of early thrash (i.e. Metallica, Slayer) and most bands back then used EMGs. So I'm installing them, everything is going well. Pickups are wired to the pots, pots are wired to the buss, going well. And then its time to wire the tone control to the output jack, but I find out that the cord is FAR too short! The same problem with the battery clip.

Does anyone know a way around this? Or am I completely screwed?

The cords are shown on top of the body because i don't have time to take apart the guitar right now.

Re: Problem Installing EMGs

BTW, early thrash bands used passives. Metallice turned to EMG on AJFA, and Slayer around the release of SITA.

Re: Problem Installing EMGs

Yeah you're right, but to be fair AJFA is my favorite Metallica album and same with SITA. So that fact doesn't change much.

Re: Problem Installing EMGs

Extend it.... solder on another wire to the tip and use a sleeve or electrical tape to secure the connection

Alternatively, two splices -- cut wire in middle and splice in a wire between the ends....although thats pretty unconventional

Re: Problem Installing EMGs

Better to just splice onto one end. Keep the soldering to a minimum.
