Problem recording from one audio interface input into Reaper?

Phantasmagoria

watch where you point that sabre
This started happening all of a sudden with my Audient ID4 audio interface. The 1/4 Jfet intrument input in front would only record blank audio (ie nothing) into reaper (XLR input at the back worked/recorded fine). It also recorded from the 1/4 Jfet input into Audacity fine. So it;s not that the input is'nt working (?)

A few days ago I got a Mackie Onyx Produder 2.2 interface cuz it has two XLR inputs that I can use to record two mics simultaneously (The Audient has 1 instrument & 1 mic input only) except again with the Mackie input # 1 works fine & input # 2 records only blank audio into Reaper (again it records fine from both inputs with Audacity). I'm totally confused. 1 input works and 1 does'nt in both interfaces. Anyone know what the problem might be? I'm using Windows 10. I've enabled the interfaces inputs/outputs in both my windows sound settings and in Reaper's preferences. Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Nevermind, fixed it ..at least in the new Mackie interface. I had to enable "Audio input 2" at the side on the recording sidebar or whatever :p

With my Audient ID 4 I did'nt need to do that ((I guess) because there was just one instrument input. Stiill does'nt explain why the audient ins'nt recording from the instrument input in font in Reaper. But maybe I need to try and switch "Audio inputs" on the sidebar with that too now. I'll have to hook it back up and try..

Yeah The Audient ID4 interface's instrument input in front worked in Reaper too after I did the same thing (selected "input 2" in the sidebar). It worked fine before without having to select anything . Maybe it's because of a Reaper update or something..weird..

glad you got it fixed. even though you figured it out, can you leave this up - I and others may need someday
