Problem with my Jacksons! HELP!

On two of my Jacksons, both my Kelly and now my RR3, which I finished assembling this morning from parts( see pic ), the A string is lower then the rest. All the other strings play okay, but the A string is too low and frets out and buzzes. What gives? Does this require a shim, or is there something wrong with the way I set up the A saddle? Maybe the wrong nut?(..and no,not the owner of the guitar).
Hoping maybe some Jackson guru can give me advice ; it would be much appreciated. ;

Make sure you have them in order and there isn't a shim under the 6th string or something. Looks like maybe the E and A are flipped, but ideally you need to check them all. That sucks.

Re: Problem with my Jacksons! HELP!

I seem to have corrected the problem, the low E string was outta the saddle groove. Plus the trussrod needed adjusting.
It still may need a shim- no problem, easy to do and i have them.
Thanks everbody.

Re: Problem with my Jacksons! HELP!

The saddles come in 3 slightly different heights. They are staggered so the string height follows the curvature of the fingerboard.
The lowest pair goes for the outer E strings, the tallest ones go in the middle for the D & G strings.
Perhaps the picture below explains it better.

All good advice , thanks again everyone.

Another question I have about Jacksons and the flatter radius necks. I know people say that the relief should be dialed in flat. I still like a bit of relief. How much relief are these necks necks supposed to be able to dial in ? My neck, I bought used, does not seem to want to crank that much relief in. No huge concern, casue I dont need much, and it gets enough, but I'm wondering if theres still something wrong with it?

Re: Problem with my Jacksons! HELP!

Loosen the rod more while it's under tension for a few days, the tension should pull some relief into it, then tighten it to where you like it. I like mine almost perfectly flat.

Re: Problem with my Jacksons! HELP!

Necks generally don't move quickly when adjusting the rod, so make minor adjustments and then let it sit for a day or so.
