Hey guys.
A few weeks ago I posted a thread as regards buying a Vintage amp Vs buying a modern Re-Issue of it. Well, I plumped for the original head last week
It's a 1973 Carlsbro 50 Top 50w head, with 3 EL34s, I'm unsure of the pre-amp valves and 4 controls (Treble, Middle, Bass and volume
) The amp had been re-valved and serviced prior to my buying it
I used the amp last week at a Charity concert my band played and the amp sounded superb. It was very clean and clear with a bell-like tone to single notes.
I used the amp again at a gig on Monday night and about halfway through our set the amp started ticking!
I unplugged everything from the input of the amp, to get rid of as many variables as I could (leads, guitar earth problems, pedal problems, my wrist watch going through the guitar pickups etc) and even with nothing plugged into the amp it still ticked.
I just wondered if anyone has any idea what may have been causing this ticking and how I can get rid of it?
Thanks for any info anyone can offer.
Craig
