Project A Palooza (or, Get to work, Daan!)

Re: Project A Palooza (or, Get to work, Daan!)

Oh yeah, I did work on my ash Jazz copy. I screwed up a whole sheet of pickguard material cutting stuff out. OR hacking it up, really... I ordered more plastic and got something pretty close to right. Another sheet is on it's way to me, then it's just wire-up and we're good. I need to decide which project should be next. I really don't want to mess with the goofy 8-color wire rail pups but that guitar is the closest to done. I just can't afford to spend that much on pickups. Unless I sell 3 or 4 of my other guitars, that is...

Holy crap I suck at cutting pickguards... After messing with this I realized the bridge pup route isn't centered very well. The way it was when I got it, the pup was shifted way up towards the top of the guitar

I've been playing around with it, I can get it centered under the strings a LOT better, especially since I made the pup ring bigger than before. WHo knew, a cheap guitar from the 70's not being perfect...
THe inlays are crooked, too. I MAY try to fill these in (I have some black EPoxy I was gonna fix the headstock inlay on my Hondo DC with)

Or, I could just finish putting this together, and just play it and enjoy it for what it is (a $79 guitar that's almost as old as I am)
:D

I'll be totally honest, I love following this thread! Great to see how things are coming along man!

My youngest has now bonded with one of my guitars (all 3 of my girls have claimed one, awesome.)
