Got the BUTALA Neck today...very nice workmanship all around...no qualms whatsoever. Highly recommend anyone looking for a project or replacement neck check Randy out!!!



- Very nice high quality handmade neck, per Butala: "we do not use any cnc machines in it's manufacture at any point so if your looking for a neck made old school for your project or as a replacement you won't be disappointed".

- Reverse Banana Headstock Hard White Maple Neck with 7/32" or .230" Thickness Hard White Maple Fretboard with Rolled Edges, Black Dot Inlays/Side Dot Markers

- Thin “U” Back Shape; .780" at 1st Fret and .850" at 12th Fret, very similar to the original George Lynch Kamikaze in both shape and size

- Fender 25 ½” Scale, R2 1 5/8" (41.30mm) Thru Neck Rear Mount, Fender Heel 2 3/16” (2.187"/ 55.55mm )

- Adjustable Dual Action Truss Rod at Heel, 10mm Tuning Peg Holes on Headstock

-12" Fretboard Radius w/Dunlop 6100 Jumbo Nickel/Silver Frets (Leveled, Crowned, Dressed, Polished)

All done except for putting on the DiMarzio Cliplock Strap and the Vinyl "Kramer" Headstock Decal!!!

I love that surf green superstrat! Definitely an awesome color combo with the maple neck and black hardware. Especially loving that floyd

Thanks! Spent a good part of the evening playing it and tweaking it to my liking. Impressed with both the Butala Neck and the SD Custom Shop MJ RTM.

Is that the same seafoam green body that was posted on the FB Kramer page?

That came out great. Both of those guitars look awesome.

No. There was another one that George/Midnight Highway sold to a Kramer Forum Member which got parted out pretty quickly. This one was a NOS Fire Sale Body that I found on eBay for $90.

Thanks! I'm really happy with both of 'em. I'm thinking a Maple Board Floyded Tele Project isn't too far down the road.

I seem to remember a natural finished swamp ash tele with a floyd and Gibson Originals around here a while back, that was you, wasn't it?

I really like both this one and the Iceman, but I think you already knew we have similar tastes in guitars. I'm about ready to assemble the PCII I got from you BTW.

Both are awesome! Im not big on the mint green, but the black dots and black hardware tie it all together quite nicely! Whats the site where you got the neck? I have an old Kramer body I need to build, Id love to put an upside down hockey stick on it.

Also, look forward to a proper review on the RTM

Thanks, RTM is quite different from any SD I've had before; I like it but I'll play it for a bit then review.

As to Randy Butala...makes some killer necks and bodies...doesn't have any necks or bodies up currently bit check him out. You can read the specs on the one I bought a few posts up.
