MEGAINFRACTOR!
What I have: a Squire.

My goal: make it pretty.

Budget: cheap as possible.

Right now it's tobacco burst - at least I think that's what you all call it.

It's for my lady. Something to learn on.

It's in pretty good shape. Stays in tune pretty well, I'll probably just throw 2 more springs on the trem.

More questions to come.

I have an old Yamaha I redid, but never play because I got the wrong size trem for it. What's that called, f-spacing? If I can use the parts of of that, it would be awesome. I have a hot rails and a jb Jr. In it that I can use too.

She likes dolphins, purple, and green. Hmm. How hard would it be to add a veneer? She loves the look of flamed wood, but the burl wood was a hit too.

Sorry for any bad grammar etc, this tablet's a ***** to write on, at length. Thanks!

Not super difficult, but a good bit of tricky/fiddly work

How about adding a fabric material cover like those paisley teles?
Chix dig cool fabrics.
That way she can pick out what she likes.

Re: Project.

Buy a different body from Guitar Fetish, in the color she would like. Put a pearloid pickguard on it.

Good ideas, thanks! I am looking on certainlywood.com for veneers. They have some nice burls. Do I have to do 'piping' along the edges if I go that route?

Another good idea. Honestly, the guitar's for her, the hobby is for me :D . I don't mind the work. And hey, if I screw it up beyond repair, I always have that option.
