Prototyping days...

Besides painting the house, repairing peoples cheap bad guitars ;) And so on.....
I get a few moments to do this stuff as well....
Always wanted to make a drive that sounded like it was melting away on the inside.....oh well you get the idea?!
Now I found what I was sorta looking for, it will do now, as you can chase this sh!t forever without becoming any closer.
Right now it is simple setup, gonna make a more useful layout for it.
Also have another different thing going on, that one has several stages coupled together....

The Chopper got a crazy extension too.....Thomas is crazy :D

Slowly we are getting a few models that we can make later on.
Here is a dual clip, both are raw prototypes, used the Super Sonic's clean sound with fat engaged.
Ibanez Radius....first is the threestaged thingy....then there is a clip with a backer with the twostaged machine....

And the three stage(that soon will become a fourstage) with a backer.

One more...this is a more conventional drive, use mostly myself for that slightly clipped fat sound.

Re: Prototyping days...

The one with the backing track sounds great. Really cool...smooth, but like you say, "melting away on the inside". Nice work.

So, Niels, you haven't been working for Carl Martin for a while, so who are you working for now that you are developing these prototypes?

Are these something that have the possibility to make it to market?

Re: Prototyping days...

Thanks, eh well nobody...these pedals are my mates and mine.
We make them for ourselves, and when we have developed some more, tested out stuff, and all that slow stuff, then the plan was to sell a few of the finished product, our intent is to keep it lowkey.
Neither of us have the time nor the desire to go mainstream with any of this.

We have had all these funny ideas for the last decade or more, but never had the opportunity to get them out there, well where I used to work that kind of stuff was deemed to far removed from a certain kind of taste, that is ok.
So now we try to make these work in a different way, all of us have been in this crazy biz for a long long time!
Got a big heated garrage with lotsa space, we know all the good places for parts, and so on, know a few people with stores, and know one or two people who plays all kinds of music....I think it will work.

But it will take sometime before we are quite there!
We will do it!
And taking that break was good, I'll keep repairing guitars as well, it will be a good combination of things, and I keep to work with my old mates...always a big plus :)

The three stager is actually missing a stage, it is supposed to have four different stages when it is done!
We have some funny delays/echoes, and a few modulation insanities that we need to try out, we will disregard any fashion in the pedal world...with pride and will go down shooting :D
It is purely stuff we love ourselves, and we just happend to be that way, and if anyone wants to buy some of that, cool indeed!
If not....oh well ;)
We still have our other jobs, and then we will just keep making stuff for our own amusement!

Niels

Re: Prototyping days...

Hey, thanks for the update.

Live the dream. I have some serious envy going on. Good luck with your plans, hope all pans out well for your projects. So far, I love the tone of that drive. Keep us up on the progress.

Re: Prototyping days...
