protruding magnet

the magnet on a duncan sh2 jazz I just got has the magnet sticking out a little past the baseplate preventing me from fitting a cover to it. can the mag be pushed in without damaging the pup?

Loosen the 4 little gold screws at the bottom of the pickup and carefully push the magnet back in a bit...
