PRS S2 Singlecut Pickups Swap

Good morning! I've been thinking on swapping the stock pickups to Jazz Neck / Custom 78 Bridge (along with better volume pots) and was wondering if anybody had experience with this combo. My S2 SC is the Antique White, mahogany body w/ maple cap (no pick guard) version.

I like playing what is now considered classic rock these days...AC/DC to STP (with attempts to play VH and Ozzy). I currently play in a modern praise and worship band, where my music director states that my secondary purpose in the band is to "add balls" to the music.

My rig at the moment is S2 > Wireless system > Tuner > Wah > Fly Rig RK5 > Chorus > Flanger > DI > PA.

I would like to keep the warm tone, while have a bright/chimey sound on the neck. I use my volume pots a lot...so, I will need pickups that cleans up well when rolled back.

Thanks a lot in advance for any advice given.

Personally, if I'm going to use an alnico 2 bridge pickup I'll use an alnico 2 neck pickup too.

The reason being that Alnico 5 is stronger with more bass than Alnico 2 and wouldn't want the A5 neck pickup to overpower the A2 bridge pickup.

I had an Alnico 2 Pearly Gates neck and Alnico 2 '78 paired in my dual humbucker Strat and liked that combo very much.

Seemed nice and balanced.

I agree about this.

I used to have a PRS SE Singlecut Korina with a Slash in the bridge and a Jazz in the neck, and while I didn't have any issues balancing the output of both, I do think the EQ of the neck pickup was way out of whack scooped and bassy compared to the middy bridge pickup.
