PRS S2 Standard 22 #7 Replacement

Hi,

I have a PRS S2 Standard 22 with stock #7 bass and treble pickups.

I find them quite muddy, lacking in clarity and quite uninspiring but I do like them when they are split.

I've tried changing the heights and pole pieces but I just don't like them very much.

What would pups would give more clarity, be less muddy and still sound good split?

I play mainly clean and overdriven sounds, not much distortion.

Thanks

The split tones on PRS are less to do with the pickups and more to do with the wiring. They use a partial split, which means they let a little of the 2nd coil come through. This yields a more authentic level of output than a full spit and also still cancels some/all of the hum. Pretty much any decent HB you put in will likely sound as good or better split.
