It's a sweet looking axe, but if I'm going acoustic I'm going either Martin or Taylor.

Don't forget pickups....
Maybe I'm old school, but I prefer a company that specializes in making one particular thing and making that one thing great.
That's not to say those companies don't make great products..... Rather I just like when a company focuses all their attention on one thing.

Paul Reed Smith, on the other hand, wants to be a global power in the musical instrument market, and he's doing it.
You need an Etsy store. PRS wants to be on the New York Stock Exchange.
The American dream has many flavors, and I can't think of a better story (or model) than what PRS has done --- start out working hard, hustling, fighting tooth and nail to get people to try your products, make more and more of them, never compromising quality, just working hard, then slowly, slowly, slowly expand into other surefire ways to get your products into more peoples' hands, all while maintaining your reputation for quality.
I think it's incredible what he's done, and that he is a GREAT capitalist.

No doubt.
Would love to see them take the Gibson approach and make a studio version of some of their models ala 22, 24, etc. Somewhere in between their standards and the SE line.

Though I wouldn't have chosen an SM57 to record acoustic guitar, the 2nd and 3rd clips do sound pretty good.

I thought for sure I was going to like the Custom sound better, but the Standard actually sounds better balanced to my ears. Needless to say, I really, really want one of these things. The USA model PRS Acoustics have been retardedly expensive and it's nice to see (what I'm assuming) is going to be an affordable version now. I can't wait to try these things out at my local GC. Seriously, how great do these acoustics sound? I thought I would only be able to settle for a Martin D-18GE, but this sounds so darn good for a fraction of the price that I may have to forego that other plan.

The Custom sounds a little boomy to my ears.
I know a lot of people are turning on PRS but they do what they do really well and the entire SE line is looking like the best bang for the buck on the scene.

With MAP at 650 / 750, they should "street" lower than that.
