PRS SE Multi-Foil upgraded

I got my PRS back from the guitar tech this weekend. He re-shaped and filed the nut for me and installed the new pickups. Plays and sounds so much better now.

I usually like "different". Can't say I particularly care for that look, however. On the other hand, that Alt 8 is one heck of a pup.

Really like the guitar. Still not sure about the Alt 8 pickup. It's just different. Might use this guitar at my gig this weekend...not sure yet.

I have the VEH neck pickup in 3 guitars now and I really like them. Very smooth and very sweet sounding IMO on the two I have that are uncovered. This is my first one with the chrome cover and the same tonal qualities are there, but it seems to be a touch darker. Maybe due to the cover? Still sounds good, but slightly darker which could also be that it's in a PRS (mahogany body/neck and 25" scale) vs a "Strat" type guitar (Alder/basswood body, maple neck and 25.5" scale) for the two uncovered pickups (Yamaha RGX-421D and LTD M-50FR).

I do have the VEH bridge pickup in one guitar and it seems pretty good. Haven't really played it a whole lot, so I reserve my judgement for that one.
