PRS SE Torero: FLOYD, NECK-THRU, EMG

Re: PRS SE Torero: FLOYD, NECK-THRU, EMG

That's purty, but I"ve never been able to get with the wide-thin neck too well.

Re: PRS SE Torero: FLOYD, NECK-THRU, EMG

Eh, if a regular PRS SE is $500 new, upgrade the pickups to EMGs ($180), and install an original Floyd Rose, and make it a neckthrough.. it's worth about $1k.

I agree it's an SE and it's korean, but it's not a regular SE with cheap pickups and tremolo

Re: PRS SE Torero: FLOYD, NECK-THRU, EMG

That looks GREAT, but yeah, it's got EMGs...

How about a passive version guys?!?!?

Re: PRS SE Torero: FLOYD, NECK-THRU, EMG

ive been seeing the ad for em in guitar worlds, looks great to me. save for the EMGs, seems pretty awesome. reminds me of a caparison, i think

Re: PRS SE Torero: FLOYD, NECK-THRU, EMG

When PRS first came out, I was a teenager who got to talk to Paul for a few minutes.

One question I asked him is why he didn't make any models with a Floyd Rose. He answered something like "I want to present my guitars as classics where all the parts on the guitar are made by PRS....just like Gibson and Fender." This was around '86 when Floyds were on just about everything but Gibson and Fender.

I have to admit, it's not my bag, but I'm eager to try one out in a store.

OMG!
I really want to try some!
Hopefully it'll be around my local guitar stores under $1k,and if it's awesome I'll surely buy one..
Just wish there isn't any SE logo on it.. Lol

Re: PRS SE Torero: FLOYD, NECK-THRU, EMG

I prefer a Japanese Jackson for the same price instead of Korean PRS

Natural binding on the body and no bigass "Torero" on the headstock would be a cherry on the top!

Also, some of the newer EMGs if they're not going passive...like a 81TW/89 or 89R combo!

This is pretty darn good looking if you ask me:

Well it IS a nice and smooth neck joint, but considering how they had advertised it I thought the "extra-mega-hyper-duper-super-uber deep carve" went all the way to the bridge.

Re: PRS SE Torero: FLOYD, NECK-THRU, EMG

I think it's cool.

I wouldn't play one as it's a group of features completely opposite to my tastes, but I think it looks like a great axe for a lot of players at a reasonable price.

Definitely fills a void in the PRS lineup and is executed in a classy way. Naked ebony board with white binding? Can you say slick?

Smart move on PRS's part. They will sell a bajillion of these.

Re: PRS SE Torero: FLOYD, NECK-THRU, EMG

This is PRS taking a really different and really smart move. For years, PRS hasn't stepped up to the plate to make a guitar geared towards the metalheads and shredders. This one looks perfect. It's got the right specs, the right components, it's well thought out and somewhat fairly priced. I hate the artist sig. PRS that they're going to be releasing, but as far as a new model goes, I think the Torero will be a hit.

Definitely. These are Schecter killers in my eyes. Same price range as most of their offerings, geared towards the same "I hate my life but love dark red stained flamed maple guitars" crowd but miraculously accomplished without disgusting amounts of abalone :D

All jokes aside they are probably really good guitars for the money and there is certainly a market segment for these.
