I hate the not-adjustable bridge on the tremonti

Do you hate bridges on acoustics too? A well crafted guitar doesn't need any saddles and such I suppose?

I use a wound G (A) string! How do you inotate this? This can just work with one string gauge and tuning I think

True, the axe is set up so.09 or .010 gauge sets will work the most optimal, which is what 95% of guitarplayers use.
I don't really see it will cause any big problems though? You do have a point there!
I wonder what the exact filosophy behind the bridge is, do they think the guitars are so well made (that means a very small tolerance!) that you don't need to mess with the intonation? Or is it part of making things cheaper? dunno if the more expensive axes use different bridges.

With standard tuning it's no problem I guess... Isn't Tremonti playing Drop C? Weird....

Just checked the site, must be a cost thing because the real Tremonti model looks like it has adjustable bridge saddles.

Why not get an another bridge? Tone Pros makes one just for PRS thats intonatable. There are others too.

I will! But that's one of the things I like about my SG, it's perfect stock!
I've been down the road of getting a 'budget' guitar and upgrade parts before, in the end I could have bought a real Gibson for all the cash I put into it... Then again I'll probably end up replacing any bridge, nut and pickups on any guitar I'll ever buy. :crying: It sucks te be picky... :thumbsdow

Standard, Drop D, Open D, and occasionally lowers the E down to B and keeps the rest standard as far as I know. But I suppose anything is possible.

As for the intonation problems, you can get a replacement adjustable bridge for pretty cheap, and still come in way below the cost of a higher end model (if saving cash is the point anyways).

Wow nice looking guitar! I dig the blue bobbins a lot!
How's the bass response/ low end chunk on that guitar? I've found many guitars below $1000 that lack seriously in this departement, must be one downside of cheaper wood. For instance I have a Gibson SG that is a 2 piece body but damn this thing sounds big and has plenty of bass even with low output mini humbuckers. Then I grab my Epi LP and it has a hotter tone but with much less bass response. I noticed the difference on Gibson LP's too, even the Specials. Know what I'm talking about?

Did you guys ever listen to Alter Bridge? Love his tone there, very heavy with balls to the walls. Too bad he uses wah on most of his solo's.

I don't have a problem with low end on this guitar. Could be because it's solid mahogany, or the Super Distortion, or combination of both more likely.
The bridge is adjustable on mine, somehwat. There are two screws on the end of the tailpiece. Intonate the top 3 and bottom 3 strings so the instructions say per the the PRS web site. I don't have a picture at the moment of the bridge that would show it, would be hard to see anyway. I had mine set up for 10's when I first bought it and I don't have a problem with the intonation at all.

I should add, I only play drop D other than standard on this guitar, other tunings on my other guitar.

Go to the PRS site and click customer support center, then click setup guide in the box on the left. Gives how to adjust on all PRS tailpieces. Info on PRS stoptail tells about the two allen screws. Although I was wrong. It only intonates the top and bottom strings and says the other four should be intonated correctly if the top and bottom are.

Thanks! I'm shure both the SE and higher end PRS's are well built. And they are probably all made from real mahogany. (and that means good low end, rounded highs and complex mids)


Are those SE Singlecut already for sale? I can't find much on the net, only Tremonti's. :crying:

I'm actually gassing for a tremonti se pretty badly. Mainly because I want a singlecut that has the typical les paul controls, but with the 25" PRS scale. I'd mod it though, tonepros bridge, different pickups, sperzel tuners.
