has anybody done this with success? I am thinking about it since it's the only pedal i have on my board that still has a battery. I did a quick look around on the net to see if somebody had a diy but i didn't see anything. I know i can't be the first to think/do this.

I had a freind that did it, he said it wasn't too hard... i couldn't tell you what you need to do to get it to work, though.

i took the adapter off my boss ds-1, drilled a hole in the side of my vox, soldered two wires from where the 9v connection goes to the adapter.. done and works fine... now the question is does anybody know where i can get a new one for my ds-1:)

I wouldn't do it. If you've ever compared the tone of either of those pedals with a battery eliminator and with an old fashioned non-alkaline battery the tone is much sweeter, smoother and better with the battery. Compare it with one of those "classic" non-alkaline batteries...you should hear a diff for the better.
