This has been going on for at least a month. Funny thing is I've been watching every time they put a 2x12 on ebay with the same configurations as included in the sale, and they almost always end up being more expensive than just buying it off their website. Stupid people.

Love Avatars. I've had a few, currently two 2x10s. Highly recommended.

Yes. Same. So happy with my 2x12. I ordered their 18w head with 6V6's. I have a damn good feeling about it.

Funny that, I'm using my cabs with a Trinity 18 watt head. Both the 18 and 45 from Avatar look pretty sweet!

Fortunately I just bought a Mesa 4x12, because if I hadn't I would've jumped on this deal (Contemp/Black/Wheat/Creambacks). I say fortunately because if I'd be getting an Avatar 212, I should really hold out for one in Burgundy tolex. Its just about the coolest looking thing ever.

At least the last month. Not sure whats going on, I guess they have to get rid of a surplus. All the 212s they've been putting up on ebay also have the same features as these sale ones.

With the AVATAR cabs, do the traditionals sound diff than the contemporarys?
What is a good speaker combo for rock and metal? Im pretty well versed at pickups, but no so much about speakers. I have a carvin 4x12 with thier british series speakers. I have a splawn 4x12 with thier speakers and I have an Avatar 2x12 that I think (I need to open it up to see) it has celestion 75s in it. only speaker Ive ever changed is the stock pv speaker in my classic 30 to an eminence Private jack..

Creambacks are related to the original G12m-65 watt speakers of the late 70s and early 80s. They are a higher power g12m25 variation. They have a deeper low end and a more restrained high end,but still have much of the woody midrange complexity (a bit less high mids than a 12m25 ). They are big, beefy, wide ane open sounding with presence. Very different than the T75s. Think early Michael Schenker Group (first coupla albums), think Judas Priest circa Screaming/Defenders. That sort of tone when paired with a Marshall.
There are a bunch of good clips on yootoob, do a search for celestion creamback. They have become very popular as the resurgence of the g12m Greenback sound has made its way back into the public eye. For people who love 12m25s but need tighter/heavier tones and more power handling, the 65 is a no brainer.

There are actually two new Creambacks, a 65 watter with the regular M magnet and a 75 watter with the heavier H magnet. Not much talk about the 75 watt model it seems.
