PU Covers

I just go a Flying V and I was considering putting on PU covers. Has anyone done this before? I am assuming that LP/SG covers would match. Does it change the sound any? I do dig the hot output of the guitar.

Modern german silver covers do not change the sound. Way back in the 70ties they used magnetic materials like iron, copper or anything that made a bad mouth on covers. But you need a little experience on soldering to do the job and do not overheat the bobbins! Look at projectguitar.com there is a tuturial about changing magnets of pups which says something on putting on and off covers. Hope that helps
