PU suggestions for a extremly hard/heavy blues tone from s strat

hey guys first off iv never changed PUs before, and has hardly an idea whats going on.
-first off ill tell u my setup, im useing a FMT strat, basically stock with a maple fretboard.
-the best way to describe the tone im looking for would be , 25% blues, 50% hard rock, and 25% metal... so i geusse an extremly hard/heavy blues tone
-i only ever use the neck postion(cuz bridge sounds really bad on strat haha) , and would like a single size humbucker if possible
-i suppose it dosnt have to be a SD

ne suggestions for what i can throw in there in any position as long as it isnt to trebly, because even tho i play lead i dont like screaming treble haha.

I just went through some of this. For what you want if it's a Duncan - you probaby want either the Lil 59, the JB Jr., Lil Screamin Demon, Hot Rails or maybe one of the active livewire jobs. If you want to stay classic single coil which I might do, I'm looking at all of them.

Hey there...yeah i agree with you about the strat bridge i would never use one for anything, so i think you should definitely put a decent single coil sized humbucker in that bridge spot.

What you need is definitely a setup with a hot single sized humbucker in the bridge and neck position, and a slightly cooler single coil type thing in the middle so you can get those nice clean sounds in the notch positions.

There are heaps of combinations you could try but ill just talk about duncans.

For the bridge id either go with a JB Jr. or a Hot Rails, but i wouldn't go any cooler than either of those. Probably a JB Jr. since you said you want more of a Hard Rock sound than Metal.

For the neck i was thinking and id actually go with a quarter pounder flat...just because that will be a huge fat sounding pickup but will sorta sound stratty still...should be extremely cool! Having said that i have a JB Jr. in the neck of an alder guitar of mine and it sounds great...so you could even put one of those in the neck too which would match well with the bridge JB Jr. if you went down that path.

And for the middle like i said you should go with something cooler so that when you mix it with the bridge and middle picukps you can still get great single coil type clean tones. So i rekon you could go with a custom staggered for strat, or to make sure there is no hum you could go with a duckbucker even which would be good...but id keep it fairly cool so you can get those nice notch tones. Actually maybe a cool rails would be nice in the middle...still can rock but also can clean up a bit. Yeah i think thats it!

So after all that rabble, if i were looking for the same thing you're looking for id go with this combo:

Bridge - JB Jr.
Middle - Cool rails.
Neck - Quarter Pounder.

Cool Rails in the neck, Vintage Rails in the mid, and Hot Rails in the bridge. This set will do exactly what you want it to do with no hum.
