Right, ACP's. I don't think I've ever seen Probuckers in any SG model. Probuckers are usually reserved for more expensive guitars, which have often been LP's.
The standard PU's Epi used prior to their 2010 upgrade program (ACP's and PB's in most models), were the dreaded 'mudbuckers' which were terrible. There's still guys that won't replace those because they think they 'sound great.' If only they could actually hear a good PU.
Another PU set that I think works well in SG's is the Rio Grande BBQ. They're A5's, but wound so that they're on the warm side, but still articulate.
Of course, Doc's suggestion of a HB bridge & P-90 neck is excellent. I've done that.
Mine came with Probuckers, at least the factory stickers said Probuckers on them.

59/WLH gets my vote
I'll have to pull them out and look and see what they stickered them with on the bottom. I could be losing it for all I know? LOL
OK so I guess I am losing it, they are Classic Pro pickups, sorry for the confusion. I must've mistook the Pro on the sticker as Probucker, it was certainly large enough to be confusing. Not terrible by any stretch, certainly better than some older Epi pickups I've come across.
For schitts and giggles I threw in the SNS set I have to see how they sound in it.
Cool let us know how the SNS work out.

I have an A2P set n my SG.
Never looked back ! Love those pick ups in an SG !
Got it in there now for at least 7-8 years.
I like them well enough. I much prefer an A5 mag pickup like the 59 or the C5 though. This makes a nice complimentary setup but for lack of a better term they're more hollow sounding to me. A decent bark when you get on them and more wire-y sounding. They didn't stay in my Mira, I put them in a Melody Maker-ish guitar I have and they were good but not quite right for that guitar either. We'll see if they've found a home here in this guitar? Got a few rehearsals coming up so I'll shake it down and I guess I'll know shortly.
I don't mean they're bad pickups, I just need to hear certain things that maybe these aren't right for.
I’m split between the WLH for a bridge or C5. My LP has that Classic sound so I want the SG to sound more modern. What do you recommend?
