Ok, the clearcoat and buffing stage is done.
Its hard to get the colour balance right, and to avoid the problem of excess reflections but these are the progress pics so far.
All the lacquer was rattlecan, so I've done pretty well to get the shine there....it just takes much more sanding to get the surface flat, which is more opportunity to introduce marks which can't be removed.
I'll give the polish a couple of days rest to reharden before bolting a lot of the hardware on. There's also a good deal of residue from the cutting compound to remove.
I'm waiting on 2 pickups from Zhangbucker for this build. He's winding me a 12 screw Crushbucker bridge pickup, and a stronger Woodbucker neck with a high coil strength offset.....both in zebra.
