Quarter Pound Tele Neck 3-wire

I'm putting an old 3-wire Quarter Pound neck I've had forever in my Tele with a new Jerry Donahue bridge I just bought. I'm not splitting anything. Do I solder the red and white wires together, and black is ground? Thanks!!

Measure which two wires give the greatest/full DC output; those two will be your hot/ground. You would tape off the remaining "tap" wire, connect it to nothing. This is usually the red wire.

Although, it is certainly worth it to tap a Quarter Pound Tele. You should eventually wire it to a push/pull pot or something...you'd get a cool tone.
