Question about modding a crybaby wah

Is it possible to open up a new cry baby and install a fasel inductor? I have no experience with modding pedals but I can get a local tech I know to help me. But if it possible how much would a fasel inductor cost and are they easy to buy? Would it be cheaper than buying the Crybaby fasel inductor wah. Im mainly thinking of doing it for the experience. Any help or advice would be appreciated. :)

Cool I can wait.

Hello guys...Great to be home again....

Yes,you can replace the inductor in your CB...My favorite inductor is the Fulltone for around $25....It has only 2 legs to solder compared to 4 on most Dunlop inductors, but it'll still work fine...Best current prices on the Fulltone stuff I'm finding is at www.tubesandmore.com or www.musictoyz.com

Re: Question about modding a crybaby wah

I'm pretty sure Dunlop actually makes a for-sale Fasel Inductor part. Almost every music store deals Dunlop, so if they don't have it, they can order it.

I know a friend who did that, that's how I've heard of the part. Apparently came with instructions and everything. He said it was pretty simple, just soldering iron skills. If you can't do it, the tech sure could then.

Only one thing. He said it didn't make a big difference. I mean, there was a difference, but not a big one. The part doesn't cost a lot, but if you're ordering it, it may take a while to arrive. That could mean a long wait for nothing, but who's to say? At I'm pretty sure less than $20, it might not hurt to try.

The Fulltone inductor is the best inductor I've tryed compared to the red and yellow fasel inductors and every other Dunlop inductor out there....I Love Teese's inductors, but you can no longer buy them...

Cool I think I'll do it then. Even if there is no difference in sound and its a waste of 95 bucks(I could just order the fasel wah pedal from MF for $99 if I want then) Its the experience of ripping apart a pedal that Im looking forward to. BTW Stratdeluxer I know you mod DS-1s but do you mod the boss od pedals aswell? Ty for the help.
