Question about Patb-3 trembucker!!!

For those out there who have heard the Patb-3 trembucker-does it have a good lower mids "growl"(like the screamin demon has)???.i love the overall e.q. and the smoothness of the '59 but wish it had a tad bit more mids.lower mids to be specific.the C5 has descent low mids, but too boomy in the bass dept and a little too compressed for my taste......been thinking of sending in my '59b to the duncan custom shop and having it rewound to the specs of the Patb-3(if it's got the growl factor???).

Re: Question about Patb-3 trembucker!!!

Is that the Blues Sareceno model? If so, from my memory, it was similar to the C5 and 59, but filled out the mids that the two were lacking. Also, the bass wasn't as boomy as the C5.

Re: Question about Patb-3 trembucker!!!

yes,the patb-3 is the blues saraceno pickup.i guess i've come up with the same issues also with the '59b & C5.i love the clarity & smoothness of the '59but wish it has a little more low mids growl.a bit hotter would work also, maybe something in the 9k-10k range is enough.my 59b measures out at 8.8k.not bad though.open, clean sound.definately love that.the C5,though,is too boomy for my taste and it's creeping into the compressed feel somewhat.nice pickup, still, with the addtl lower mids boost & very tight, punchy bottom end like the '59b.the demon, well, that's another beast all together.otherwise,if i had to choose between these three, the 59b would get my vote.that's where the patb-3 comes in.if it does fill in the gap between the '59b(giving it slightly more mids and a touch hotter wind) and the C5(without the heavy boomyness and somewhat compressed feel)...then it could be "the one"...maybe.LOL!!! i guess i'm just gonna have to try the damn thing!!!

Hey goldwing please post your results...been thinking about that pickup myself though buying new is pricey and you don't see them for sale ('pre-owned') often.
