okey i got them! they were just bunched together without indication of north/south, dunno if it matters

anyway i will get them installed by a guitar tech soonish

blargh the job would cost 100$ ish, i think ill revisit of swapping them myself

also the other magnet is clear and blue/black ish the other is brown and not very smooth

i wonder which is a5 and which is a8

You can swap a magnet in 10 minutes, including loosening & retuning. "So simple a child could do it" as they use dto say on commercials. The A5 will be shiny and polished, the A8 is dark and rougher.

thanks, i think the problem is that the pickup covers are soldered and waxed on pickups =(

ok, alnico 8 always has a darker, gunmetal grey color to it with less shine than the other alnicos, which are all a brighter grey. you can also tell by sticking them on a fridge, the alnico 8 will stick onto it alot harder than the alnico 5.
