Hey guys first and foremost im canadian if thats relevant.

My question is....iv always wanted a jackson king V. Iv been doing some research and noticed jackson and esp do not make a lefty V. WHY IS THIS. They make rhoads and soloists but no king V i dont wanna pay out the ass in custom shop for something i cant even try first.

Dean make a few leftys but nothing substancial
I have the mustaine peace sells. honestly its a great playing guitar but feels like a cheap hockey stick in my hands. They make the angel of death lefty altho close to what i want its still an artist guitar i want my own not daves. So my real question is do any of you lefties own a king V or esp or dean (pointyV) not gibson style. No disrespect all iv ever wanted is a pro level King V left handed and i cant find any. ( Any good substitutes?)

Re: Question for my lefties

They chose not to.....simple as that.
Most guitars don't get made lefty.....special editions moreso. Gibson has not made a single CC series in a lefty yet. Its often a PITA to flip everything especially CAD programs for short runs.

Do not own a V of any type; never have. Someday perhaps...

Thus is the curse of being left-handed. But on the same token, we lefties get to rightie-bash when we get the chance.

Plus, no one touches our guitars.

Plus, we're generally better guitarists than righties. :naughty:

Your best bet short-term is to browse the local guitar stores for that one lone lefty black Squier strat that sits there for decades.

Your best bet long-term (and overall) is to learn how to make your own (Warmoth, USACG) so you can have what you want.

BTW, speaking of V's, is your forum name perhaps taken from the Michael Schenker Group's "Attack Of The Mad Axeman"?

Re: Question for my lefties

If Warmoth is a decent alternative, they make King V-style bodies. There was a thread with a really nice one here recently.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see that LLL already mentioned this above.

Re: Question for my lefties

I think V guitars are ambidextrous...just got to get used to not hitting the controls accidentally with your left hand.

Re: Question for my lefties

In the beginning, I realized I was somewhat ambidextrous, so when I started playing guitar I tried it both ways. I had a friend who had a few lefty guitars so I tried his, and I tried some of my other friends' righties. It was equally awkward both ways, so I went with the road that had more options, and I play righty. And somewhere along the line I noticed that most of the intricate stuff is done with the left hand, while the right hand holds a pick and slashes at the strings.

I don't agree; the toughest things in playing IMO require tight right hand coordination (if you play right-handed; ) string skipping, sweep picking, complex alternate picking patterns etc. To me it makes sense to pick with your right hand if you also write with your right hand, because it is similar to 'writing' notes onto the strings; you need a lot of precise control within millimeters. The left hand motions of fretting are more like just typing the notes similar to a keyboard. Most people using a computer type with both hands (unless you're doing something *else* at the same time as you type) so it's better to just use your left hand to perform that sort of digital work.

I like left handed v's because they look normal compared to all the other ugly lefties.
