Questions about Eric Clapton mid boost and other tone controls

Re: Questions about Eric Clapton mid boost and other tone controls

My experience of running active guitar pickup signals through and pot of resistance value much over 100k is that it turns the sound very muddy - and that's before you try rolling the pot down towards zero.

I have never worked on the Fender EC booster but I have used EMG-SPC and assorted bass guitar multi-band systems.

I was looking at the EMG-SPC but was leaning more toward the Clapton Mid boost. What I'm wondering is once you turn the active controls off or bypass them how will that 50k vol pot effect the signal of just passive pups?

Re: Questions about Eric Clapton mid boost and other tone controls

On the two guitars of mine with the EMG-SPC fitted, the PCB/pot is the last thing in the signal path before the jack socket.

On the EMG active EQ and booster devices, the zero point on the pot is the bypass.
