Questions about Wolfgangs

Re: Questions about Wolfgangs

I was thinking of putting my PGn and for bridge A2pro, Blues, or '78 into my Wolfgang. What do you guys think of these choices?

I was playing my Wolfie last night...the stock pickups have the 'feel' of DiMarzios I've played in the past. That means it's time for some Duncans. :)

I used to have a Blues Trembucker/Alnico 2 Pro set in mine. It's one of the best combos I've ever tried, I only took it out because I want to eventually try it in a different guitar. The Pearly Gates might be a little to bright in the Wolfgang, due to all that maple.

I like the stock pickups as well. Smooth, round neck pickup, powerful, tight, responsive bridge. I lowered my bridge pickup just a tad and it sounds great IMO.

Re: Questions about Wolfgangs

I really like the stock pickups in my Wolfgang.

Peavey did offer a rosewood board on the speacial. You could get whatever you wanted from the custom shop...

Re: Questions about Wolfgangs

I'm also extremely happy with my stock pups and they're even the cheaper import ones on my Quilttop EXP.

Re: Questions about Wolfgangs

I thought that the pickups were the same on the imports as they were on the USA-mades? I could be wrong, someone please correct me if so.

They're wound exactly the same, with the exact same materials. The only difference is that the import pickups are wound overseas.

Actually, the last year or so ALL Wolfgang pups were made overseas. Even the Custom Shop models.

Yeah, I heard that, didn't know if it was true or just a rumor.
