I've been looking at different ways to power my pedals for a while now. Decided batteries are out simply because I kept forgetting to unplug my board when I had finished, resulting in a heap of dead batteries. I have been using a 9v boss adaptor with a daisy chain to power my pedals lately, and it does work well. Though I do notice the noise when there are 3 or pedals hooked up. My board is
Dunlop wah (not daisy chained though), Boss TU2, Maxon OD9, EHX little big muff. I also sometimes use a boss DD3, and/or a MXR Stereo chorus and a DS1.
I've had no real issues with this method of powering my board, however the hum is starting to annoy me, and the MXR stereo chorus is 18v, so I can't power it from the 9v adaptor.
Now as i've researched the Dunlop brick it seems to have everything I need, it will power each of the pedals and each supply is isolated so it will minimise if not get rid of the noise. And it has 18v power supplies!! no similar products had an 18v capability, thats why im looking at Dunlop.
I've searched the forum here and there isn't that much about it, I have read reviews over at HC and what concerns me is that it is held in high regards, until an 18v pedal, like a stereo chorus! is plugged in and then the noise is back.
Does anyone here have any experience with the DC brick and can set me straight?
Cheers
