Questions for Dunlop brick users.

I've been looking at different ways to power my pedals for a while now. Decided batteries are out simply because I kept forgetting to unplug my board when I had finished, resulting in a heap of dead batteries. I have been using a 9v boss adaptor with a daisy chain to power my pedals lately, and it does work well. Though I do notice the noise when there are 3 or pedals hooked up. My board is

Dunlop wah (not daisy chained though), Boss TU2, Maxon OD9, EHX little big muff. I also sometimes use a boss DD3, and/or a MXR Stereo chorus and a DS1.

I've had no real issues with this method of powering my board, however the hum is starting to annoy me, and the MXR stereo chorus is 18v, so I can't power it from the 9v adaptor.

Now as i've researched the Dunlop brick it seems to have everything I need, it will power each of the pedals and each supply is isolated so it will minimise if not get rid of the noise. And it has 18v power supplies!! no similar products had an 18v capability, thats why im looking at Dunlop.

I've searched the forum here and there isn't that much about it, I have read reviews over at HC and what concerns me is that it is held in high regards, until an 18v pedal, like a stereo chorus! is plugged in and then the noise is back.

Does anyone here have any experience with the DC brick and can set me straight?

Cheers

Re: Questions for Dunlop brick users.

I've got the brick and it has been perfect. No issues at all. And it certainly minimized noise.

cool, do you use it to power any 18v pedals? The complaints i read about all began when the brick was used to power 18v pedals like MXR chorus or dime distortion.

Re: Questions for Dunlop brick users.

Also can the brick be powered by the normal 9v adaptor used to power a boss type pedal?

no the brick has an 18V input. this shouldnt be a problem because it comes with an adapter....

great power supply by the way

Re: Questions for Dunlop brick users.

I was running my Crunchbox at 18v for awhile and did not have any issues. That was with powering 4-5 other pedals at 9v.

Cool thanks, I only asked about the boss style power supply because it says that it ships with a US style apaptor, and I want to use it here in Australia. I realise now that I should have said 18v rather than 9v. It does say on the bricks product description on the dunlop website to use only the adaptor provided with it, however as I will need to swap it for an adaptor that fits Aussie sockets, I need to know if this will cause problems. It is a fair bit of money to outlay on a power supply, so i'm only going to get it if I know its going to work for me.

Thanks for replies so far.
