I'm gonna agree with Larry. Even with the heavy overdirve and/or distortion of Metal you should still get the feeling that your listening to a wooden instrument. Resonate on yo wood baby! LOL!

Lol, it is pretty unnatural actually. I ran some prerecorded guitarsuite tracks I had done out of the soundcard into the vamp2 using the "tubepre" setting and into the peavey bandit. Messed with the eq on each a bit and then mic'd it up. Here are clips of the same riff(s) with just guitarsuite and one with em blended. They have bass in the mix now to since it's hard to tell how it sits in the mix without it.

Hmmmmm, I think it would sound good if you had better recording gear perhaps? What was the guitar/mods?

Re: quick clip- bit of an experiment(JB content)

Was a schecter c-1 with jb bridge straight into soundcard with guitarsuite for the original tone. The amp was mic'd with an sm57 on axis. I tried it with other recordings I have using the emg85 in an epi sg into gsuite and it sounded waaay too harsh and cold coming back out of the amp. I think the weak links in the signal are the Vamp, the speaker in the amp, and the micpre(behringer). Honestly this was a cool thing to experiment with but I don't think it worked out- gonna just keep running gsuite by itself until I get a nicer amp.

Re: quick clip- bit of an experiment(JB content)

I made the experience that recording direct to the sound card and sending it to the vamp sound much worser than sending it direct to the vamp... I dunno if it is the crappy line in.

This procedure is called reamping btw...
