im in the midst of writing this instrumental ive been stuck on for a while. something just sparked an idea, and ive got it! however, please help.....stupid question, but i have a complete memory blank and want to remember this little thing...

the "c" scale is composed of what notes?

Re: quick help needed!

There are many scales starting on C. Here are the more common ones:

Major: C D E F G A B D

Minor: C D Eb F G Ab Bb C

Minor Pentatonic: C Eb F G Bb C

Minor Blues: C Eb F (Gb) G Bb C -- (the Gb is the "b5 or "blues" note)

Major Pentatonic: C D E G A C

Major Blues: C D (Eb) E G A C -- (Eb is the b3 or "blues" note)

There are also "modes" which are a different concept, but that's a whole other discussion. :D

Hope this helps!

Peace.
