i went to play some new gear today and what i found was a 59 reissue lp and a 60 historic lp. both very nice guitars but i liked the neck on the 59 better. I loved the feel of the lighter woods and hand rubbed finishes (on the neck of the historic) the sound was also great when unplugged. the burstbuckers left me feeling cheated. after hearing what the guitars sounded like unplugged i was not impressed with the burstbuckers.
i played these guitars through a few amps but two amps to note were the new bassman ltd and a reliced but new blues junior with a jensen speaker. both amps were amazing, great sounds with all the guitars i played. I was especially impressed with the blues junior. I can't seem to find this amp on fenders website, but i would like to know more.
all in all the both guitars are great and the amps were amazing, especially for the price. the guitars would need about 250 dollars worth of new stuff (pots, caps and pickups, maybe a switch)
If anyone has any information on that blues junior please tell me, cause that was a great sounding amp
