For those of us that had to buy a MIM Fender Tele a quick way to get some better tone out of the guitar is to add a bleed capacitor on the volume pot.
Simply go to Radio Shack and pick up a bag of assorted capacitors and remove the two screws holding the metal cover and turn it over. Try a 221 cap first and solder one side to volume tip one and the other side to volume tip two.
The volume pot is the first pot and the tips I am talking about already have a wire on them
Screw it back together and play. At full volume you will notice nothing but dial the volume back andcyou will notice a much more Tele clean tight tone for about $10.00
