Re: Quick wiring question (on how to bypass ONE pickups out of 3 from the electronics)
The only switch I could find was on/on/on, so I bought it anyway. I also bought a 500K push pull pot. Tomorrow or tonight I'll probably rewire the whole thing.
Would it be possible to use the on/on/on as an on/off/on as I originally intended?
Another possibility:
I take the tone control off the guitar, replace it with a 500K standard volume pot, wired only to the bridge pickup, and I wire the miniswitch as bypassed/series/parrallel. The bridge pickup will always be on, but could be turned off using its volume pot, and could also work in conjunction with the other electronics. Would that be a possible option?
Edit: Just went to my local electronics store and I found a DPDT on/off/on switch for less expensive :duh: so yep, I got the proper switch. I'd like to wire it as on/off/bypassed electronics. I need wires for it though, and I don't know what kind of wires I should buy. What's the correct gauge and type of material for guitar wires?
