Racing Stripes?

I want to put racing stripes on my bass without having to repaint the whole thing. A friend used pinstriping tape like one would find at an autoparts store. Is this an acceptable solution? If I can avoid re painting the entire thing that will be fine. I'm not know as a perfectionist.

No problem, though I wouldn't put it on a nitro paintjob, which is on Gibsons. Most other manufacteres paint is find to put it on, I put bulletholes stickers I found an an auto parts store on my Jackson. You can even use pinstripe tape to imitate binding

Music Man SUB basses? I assume it's the same polyester stuff the Music Man uses on their regular stuff? I got it cuase I like to travel a lot, and so I don't wanna take a $1500 bass, but it sounds so good, that I don't understand why I'm not gigging with it. I think the stripes would add a layer of awesomeness.
