Amps don´t ruin albums, Incompetent engineers, producers and musicians do.
There are dozens of great albums available where the JMP-1 was the main amp used.

Supposedly, can't say 100%, I've never used either. It was designed by Bogner and came out around the same time, so I would guess it would have to be very close, just in a mass produced sort of way. It wasn't exactly a cheap preamp in its day, but the Fish was well over $2K when it came out, they still sell for that now. Maybe someone else out there can verify this better.
