Re: Randall RG80es head

Great amp not like the crap that replaced it the Century II C-170. Good luck with the sale , I should have bought this amp back in 1989 instead of the Century II. IIRC this has the Channel A/B switch toggle to either A or B or BOTH as a blend. No other amp I know of does this.

Yeah you can blend the channels. I usually add some of the clean channel and it gives a big bass boost.
I don't have the footswitch but theres a guy on ebay who does make them.

do you know the differences between the Century II 170 and the
"Century 170"?? because I have the Century 170 and I find it sounds pretty **** good for an SS amp.

Had no idea there was a Century 170, as I recall the RG80es, then all of a sudden there was a Century II. I figured there might be, but I never saw one in person or even advertised in catalogs. Mine was like neither the Phil Collen or Dimebag Century heads. I'm guessing mine is nothing like yours either as I hated the tone. It was maybe good for classic rock as it was loud but boxy gain structure. Seemed odd that it was an amp from the late 80's as it did not have the tone for that era at all.

Care to take a picture of the amp and maybe some sound samples? I am curious to see/hear how it differes from the amp I hated so much. ALso explain what styles you play and what your amp can pull off sound wise.

Re: Randall RG80es head

Ok, I'll deffinatly get some Pictures up in the next day or 2, and I have no recording equipment...but it's LOUD....good gain for Metal/heavy rock....and when turned up has a Tube feel...very responsive/dynamic.

sorry for the Hijack Pfindeis!
