randy rhoads used JBs?

Re: randy rhoads used JBs?

The second Jackson Concorde Prototype has a JB in it, this is confirmed. The white pinstriped one that Rhoads used more often live had the distortion. I strongly doubt any of his recordings had a JB used on them but yes, he did use them a little towards the end.

I had read that also that the black Jackson had the JB and there are a few shots of him using that guitar live

Re: randy rhoads used JBs?

The dude on that blog says its a TB-4 bridge. An SH4 maybe... TB4 not a snow balls chance in Tijuana.

Though you are right about the Concorde replica Jackson did make those with SH4's in them and they were suppose to be a true to every last scratch replica of the actual guitar even with the black gaffers tape covering the back... So thats intriguing.

Wait, isn't a tb-4 the same as an sh-4 but with trem spacing? It's possible they made a mistake, but then again it's also possible they made a mistake when saying what the pickup is in the first place. I'm leaning more towards distortion more now after all of this.

The TB series of pickups didnt come out until the late 80's if memory serves right. Not only do they have a wider spacing (which wouldnt be needed on those 2 jacksons one had a fixed bridge the other had a strat style trem) but they also have wider bobbins. Might just be a typo they meant SH4 and typed TB4.

Knowing how things were at the time it wouldnt surprise me if it had different pickups in it at different times. The old legend has always been SH6 but i would be really surprised if someone told me he never tried the SH4
