Advertise at school, locally, Guitarist magazines or even buy a drum machine until you get the right person.

Re: Rare gibson, any info???

Looks like an '80's budget Gibson. No idea what it's made of. 649 GBP=1150.00 USD. I can think of a lot of guitars I'd rather have for that kind of coin. In the US, that guitar would be way overpriced, IMHO. Don't let those 6 letters on the headstock suck you in.

OK after consideration i guess tweed is correct, i think in this case there is too much doubt to consider this guitar, thanks again all.

Kryuss Rock Do u have an msn messenger address? I am interested in getting into a band, and may be able to bring a bassist along with me.

Re: Rare gibson, any info???

(sorry to bring back a bit of an old thread but some may be interested)

i went into the shop not too look at that guitar, but to have a looksie at what else i could afford (and try the melody maker). I went round the shop, and they do have some very nice guitars, but nothing caught my eye like this yellow one, i decided that i should try it out, seeing as i was there. Firstly i was surprised at the action and neck, the action was fantastic and the neck was increadibly quick, when im playing my ibanez and i am doing well i get a sort of feeling that i could do anything with it, almost as if the guitar is an extension of myself, and this gibson is the only other guitar that ive felt that feeling instantly when playing it. Also the shop owners have found out some more info:
Apparently its a -

1988 Gibson Les Paul Junior Pro (Only built for this one year)
The shop Tech is very much a gibson enthusiast, and in 25 years its the first time he had seen one (then through reasearching he found another one) but for all the searching these were the only 2 that could be easily found. It is ALL standard and (even though you cant see on the picture) DOES have a serial number on the back of the headstock. The pickup had a bit of poke in it and sounded great with a tinge of gain. Unfortunately the trem is unstable, but works fine if its locked out and not used. So i think im falling in love with it, even tho many people keep telling me its ugly, and frankly it blew the melody maker away. So hopefully i can bargain a lot of the price and purchase this guitar in the near future

Re: Rare gibson, any info???

I think you've already answered your own question. A guitar is so much more than just a name. If it feels at home in your hands you should own it. I say buy the thing.

Re: Rare gibson, any info???

If it had a Les Paul type layout it would be good, with 2 pickups.
Don't like single pick-up guitars.
